The Old Post Office Museum & Art Center (OPOMAC) is dedicated to the development and maintenance of a general museum of history and fine arts for the education and enrichment for the citizens of Young County and its environs.

OPOMAC collects, preserves, and exhibits items related to the history of the Young County region, with emphasis on the period circa 1850 to the present.

Our goal is to bring about a better understanding and appreciation of history, art, and the natural environment of the area - and to utilize the United States Post Office building, which operated as such until 1982 in the City of Graham, as a repository for the objects of the permanent collection.

   "The Oil Fields of Graham"

Mural painting by Alexandre Hogue

On loan to the City of Graham
      by the U.S. Postal Service

Alexandre Hogue (1898 - 1994) was an internationally known artist and University of Tulsa Art Professor Emeritus when he painted this mural in 1939.  During the 1930s, many of the Lone Star painters were commissioned by the Federal Government to execute murals on public buildings throughout the State of Texas, and  Alexandre Hogue's sketches were chosen by a local committee for a mural for the new U.S. Post Office in Graham.  Titled "The Oil Fields of Graham", the scene depicts the area's economic base, oil and natural gas production, and agriculture.
